  • Getting baby to gain weight.

A doula client of mine had her first baby two weeks ago tomorrow. Baby was in NICU for nearly a week with lung problems and was IV fed. He went home last week and today at his check up they found he had lost 6 ounces. Doctor is saying that they need to formula feed and mom does not want to. She is to...

  • Breastfeeding Problems! Help!

Daughter is almost 4 months old. Her brother is 2 years old. He fed on breastmilk aggressively, loved feeding times and couldn't get enough. My daughter was finicky since birth. • are you up for some easy activism ?

Dear all -- I am Emma Kwasnica, tandem-nursing mother, currently pregnant with our third (what's the word for when you have *three* nurslings ? Tri-andem-nursing ? ;-) ). I am an aspiring midwife, BF Counselor, Childbirth Educator, and I currently am fighting for 'informed choice' for all...

  • Not Enough Milk?

What is causing this epidemic of “not enough milk” in mothers who are trying to breastfeed? I am glad that it didn’t happen before the invention of artificial baby milk formula, because if it had, a lot of us probably would not exist today. In fact, the human population would undoubtedly be much smaller...
