    The base is in Japan.  What I am learning is that the military abides by the laws of the country they are in.  So this mother can use a Japanese midwife if she can find one that will attend a home birth, or, perhaps as you suggested, Nina, she could file the birth certificate herself.  I did run across a blog that mentions exactly ...

  • Homebirth on US military base?

    I have a former client stationed on a foreign military base who wants me to attend her next birth.  She is being told that the hospital must apply for her baby's citizenship, therefore she can't have a home birth.  Does anyone have any experience with this situation?  If you attended a birth on base, did you simply complete ...
