  • Re: "Postpartum Pain Syndrome"-- any input appreciated!

I guess this didn't happen to me or it had been  so long ago I don't remember.  My mother was a great blessing as she told me most all the things I would go through.  So maybe my expectations were different.   I did notice in doing prenatal teaching at my local hospital that most of the young women had no clue as to ...

  • Re: Can we talk Brewers Diet?

It has been my experience that the PIH is seen mostly in the fat muffins that eat at Ickie Mickie's,have coke and chips for lunch, sit on their hinnies and wonder why they don't feel well.  I liked having the brewer diet to help explain to women how to eat.  They don't know what a complex carb. is.  They don't ...

  • Re: Just the facts on varicose veins

Vericose veins put you at risk for blood clots durring preg and in the post partum period.   The ones in the pelvis particulary can PPH quickly and are painful.  stocking don't  help alot with them.  I wouldn't think it would be helpful to have surgery until done with babies.   So depending how you ...

  • Re: OBOS: War on Birth Control

that young lady needs to learn to  get more sneaky and get some bark on her rump.  I would not allow anyone to tell me what I can do.[I am sneaky and do not want the authorities to have a file on me.  They accually think I am a nice harmless old woman,]
  • Re: unique delivery technique

I suspect this is another "do it because it has always been done like that things"  Start asking yourself why am I doing this procedure/whatever?  Does it help anything? Does it  harm the person, her baby or the process.? If  the answer is confusing to you think about the real reason, ask other ...

  • Re: Practice Forms/Paperwork

Cascade had chart pages for sale several yrs ago.  I just bought one of each and used white out to alter the things I didn't like.  After being a L/D nurse,my biggest goal was to cut the paper work to the bare bones!!   I wanted to care for the people not feed the paper eater.[there is a paper eater lurking in ...

  • Re: What to do if....

Bappy girl,  I suggest you start thinking that you will NOT have any problems.  You are young and healthy.   You have birthed before and you will do it again,,just fine.  Remember that only 2-3% of women ever need any intervention at all.  It is good to have a plan, you have already done that.  You plan to have a ...

  • Re: Male Doula

My experence with birthing my self,is along time ago and in a different time warp!  I remember hating my doctor at that time.  I liked him and respected him other wise.  My dh could not be with me or anyone else for that matter.  I just remember wishing he would go somewhere else to talk about his fishing or what ...
  • Re: Pre-term Labour

In this hot weather the fluids issue is very important.  The two major causes of preterm labor are dehydration and bladder infection.  The next is some kind of uterine infection.  Like April said,it is important to bake this baby till 37 weeks.  I would suggest you drink 1oz. of water for every 2 lbs you weigh.  As ...
