Thanks for your response, April. One thing about the month of July: MY midwife is on holiday, but I am scheduled to see her partner this Friday, and I haven't met her yet. I still could call my MW at home, but she's not officially on-call. Or I could wait till Friday to see this other midwife. So this one doesn't know me yet.
For my first 3 births, the baby came, after various methods of inducing, after my due date. My #4 baby came one week before the due date and surprised us very quickly on a Saturday morning - start to finish it was about an hour and a half total! (I didn't "get it" that I was in labour when I woke up: I just felt tired, as if I hadn't slept all night, weird, uncomfortable and had to use the bathrooom.) I haven't measured how much liquid I am getting, but I will make every effort now to intentionally keep myself hydrated, even before I get thirsty.
The morning following the 1st episode of contractions (around 25 weeks), I passed a glob of clear mucous (looked like a piece of the cervical plug). Last evening following my afternoon of contractions and I passed another glob, though more yellowish colour. Sorry, TMI! My BM's have been normal, I do not notice a change in frequency or anything. I have had some aching in my lower abdomen/pelvis and lower back at times, and it made me wonder if it was uterus, intestines, muscles, ligaments or joints! I'm not sure if the baby is lower in the pelvis than before. Last time the midwife palpated, (around 28 weeks) she said it was still up high, but I can't tell if it's moved down now. I was still measuring large for dates, but that is typical for me.
This happening has made me wonder if there's something I'm doing or not that is causing these contractions. Could I be missing something in my diet? It's weird because there have been other times when I have done strenuous activity all day long and not had the contractions, but then some days where just a small amount of forceful movements have put me into contractions. It seems a bit mysterious why some days it goes and sometimes it doesn't.
I'll probably call the midwife today just to tell her what's been going on, but I bet we'll wait till Friday to check. It's quite a long drive to go see her.
Thank you very much :)
