South Carolina Birth Network and ICAN Chapter

     Hi, Ladies!

I hope this reaches you in good spirits and health. Some of you may have received an email previously about my desire to start an organization for all of those that serve women during natural birth here in South Carolina. I just wanted to put this out there again as a reminder and for those who didn't get it.

I'd like to meet every other month so we could share get to know one another, form study groups share "tricks of the trade", case reviews, swap books, quarterly newletter, training workshops for students and just offer support for one another. These are just some ideas I'm thinking about. Anything is up for discussion. I currently have a facebook group to get us going it's called South Carolina Birth Network. I am also in the process of starting a local ICAN Chaper for this area as well. I am also needing a few local women who are interested in helping out with both. In order for there to be a change in the way South Carolina views birth we all need to be be active and work for change not simply wait around for others to do it for us.
If you could forward this email to other students, homebirth midwives and doulas (including aspiring) I would really appreciate that!

I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you in the near future!

If you have any questions feel free to call me 901-552-8097

    Jennifer Fisher
South Carolina Birth Network and future ICAN Chapter leader

My name is Jennifer, I am 31 with 3 awesome kids. I am a student midwife and herbalist, I am also in the early stages of creating the South Carolina Birth Network as well as a local ICAN Chapter.

Hello- I am a CNM and would love to be updated about this meeting!  I think you can e-mail through the site, right?  Thanks for getting this organized.  I am new to the area and have been hoping to stumble upon a group.
