Portable pelvic exam table for rural Ghana

    Hi everyone,

I have been working for the past two years doing field observations/research with midwives in different areas of Ghana. A group of students and I have been developing a portable gynecology table to provide access to pelvic and antenatal exams for women that cannot travel far distances to the clinics that are hours away. This past summer we brought the table to a few of the villages and did assessment. The “leg separation” mechanism is currently being redesigned. A few of the ideas are presented in this survey. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Hi.  I'd love to learn more about your portable gynecology exam table.  Perhaps I could even purchase one?  I'm a physician who makes house-calls in Florida, and I have a few home-bound patients that have been asking me to perform gynecological preventive screening exams.  Would appreciate any information.  Thanks very much.
