    Evening Primrose Oil

    To the midwives...

Do you recommend EPO to your clients? If so, how, how much, etc.?

    Thank you!

    Re: Evening Primrose Oil

    Greetings.

EPO is great!  It comes highly recommended.  I imagine you'll probably get a variety of answers as to how and how much... you'll just have to sort that out.  :)  Each pregnant mom is unique and I dare say that a special formula could be concocted for each one.  Anyway...around wk  36 a mom can take EPO orally 2 caps 3x daily and then at night before bed insert 2-4 (or more---I usually only have them do 2) internally as far up next to the cervix as she can.  you don't have to puncture the gel capsule, just getting it next to the cervix is great.  It's so easy and works in a lovely manner...gently...

at this hour that's all i can think of, hope it's helpful. :)

    Sweet dreams and best regards.

if it ain't broke...don't grease it!

IMO, EPO is best used by women with scarred cervices.  or perhaps postdates with no expected cervical changes (many other factors to consider).
