    herbal induction

In those rare cases when induction IS indicated what herbal induction protocols you find safe and successful?

Did any of you ever used this protocol

What do you think of it.

I know that inductions are not to be taken easy, but there are situations where there is not much choice (HBP, IUGR and such).

    Thank you in advance

I've had good results using a similar protocol. There is more information in Anne Frye's Holistic Midwivery.

In those rare cases where an induction truly is indicated, I would use a natural induction as a preference, but considering the mother's and baby's physical state, and with an understanding that if the herbal induction fails, we would transfer for a chemical one at the hospital. Ultimately, I would spend a lot of energy in making sure the mother had as much information as we can get to make a truly informed choice.
