Hi, everybody,
Doing my doctoral thesis about Nanna Conti (1881-1951) I would like to ask you for support: Nanna Conti was Chairwoman of the ICM from 1936-1938. She was also president of the International Midwives' Conference in Berlin in 1936. As she spoke English, French and Italian fluently she kept contact to a lot of midwives abroad and visited many international and national conferences. PLEASE ask your national organizations for aichives material! The contemporary material here in Germany was destroyed in 1944 by bombs.
From 1933-1945 she was also chairwoman of the German organization which tells you al lot about her opinion about politics in general, democracy, population politics, Jews and handicaped babies. I think it is really time to analyze her life and work as she was never prosecuted. Her son Leonardo was chaiman of the German physicians and "Reichsgesundheitsfuehrer".
Please tell me if you get anything! Costs for copies and shipping will be covered!
Thank you for your support.
Kind greetings
Anja
