homebirth midwife needed for Provence/Marseille area of France

I've got a former mama of mine who is there now and pregnant with second baby.  They want another homebirth.

    Anyone?

I'd be interested. I am available for travelling to International births again in August 2009.

    How far along is she?

    Jennifer

    Hi April,

I wouldn't be available in November, as my son is back to school (we were homeschooling before) and I'm only available to travel in his holidays. (Any birth in August anybody?) But as it seems that Jennifer would be available, that sounds great.

All the best to the lady.

    Love,

    Nina

    nina~

i see that you had posted this message a few years back...regarding the potential of a french birth in august...although wondering if that potential still exists this year, 2011...my estimated due date (i am working 40 weeks off of my last period - no ultrasound yet) would be august 5th...i will most likely find my way to an ultrasound here sooner or later...this would be my second child...my first, monty, my 4 and a half year old son, was born at home in boulder, colorado with j d  as my midwife...had a Very long labor (43 hours) but no complications...no tears, no episiotomy, no drugs...though his cord was wrapped around his neck twice, quickly undone by j...ooo...before i get too detailed here...i will stick with the simple question of would you be available this august to travel a bit over to france to assist me in my birth?...i hope to have the baby at my husband's parents' house in clisson, france as they have a better tub for the ocassion...thank you for any response...the fact that you speak english helps ease my mind a bit too...being american born...

also curious about your experiences and style of practice...

    with respect~

    Hello Nehje,

I would also be available for you at that time. I spend June til September in Italy about two hours from the French border so i will be right next door...

Please let me know if you would like to meet up in mid-June.

     Nehje,

I may be having my baby in Europe next year, possibly France. I would love to hear about your experience with whoever you choose to attend your birth in hopes of having a good experience myself (with my first birth!). I, too, will be an american, but with no second language to work with. Thank you so much for any insights!

And good luck with the second birth. I'm sure you will be wonderful!

Re: homebirth midwife needed for Provence/Marseille area of France

    Hey Em,

Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you!  I have chosen Nina, a German woman, who is willing to hop over to France to assist me in the birth, because even though I can speak French, I do not necessarily want to be in my head At All during those intense moments (they are nothing unbearable though, just intense).  Nina appears here on this site as thebarefootmidwife.  She is more than proficient in English as she has proven this to me in many email correspondences.  I will certainly let you know how this goes, but my heart says that she will be the perfect energetic fit for me which is very, very, very important.  With my first birth I did not take quite as much time to really seek The One for me.  It was by far not a terrible experience, I just saw that there was some room for a better energetic fit, so, I just encourage you to take your time in your search.  When is your due date?  And where in France will you be?

    Much appreciation,

    Nehje
