I'm amazed by those women who can birth in a squat.  I thought I'd do my birthing stool last time (it's very squat like), but as soon as I got in that position, I freaked - nooooo way!  Then I was running around trying to figure out where I was going to birth the baby.  I had a goat do that one time - not squat, but run around like she was trying to figure out what to do next as the kid was crowning.  That same goat this year decided to labor in a ditch - front feet uphill - I thought that showed amazing intuition!  It is amazing to see what birth really looks like.  That woman in the video reminded me of my goats when they labor.  Simply beautiful to see the same in a human!

Can that beautiful woman birth my next child for me?!?  What an incredible experience for the entire family; mother, father and baby.

    No words to accurately describe.

I've never seen birth as an artistic masterpiece.

    Exquisite.

The cat was so well behaved :)

    Re: Lovely birth video

    It was an artistic masterpiece.

I try to preface any really well done birth videos with, 'editing can make everything better looking'.  Some mamas will feel inadequate after watching that birth video.  Remember, that was a 15 minute video, the birth went on for more than 12 hours, you never see her go pee, throw up, eat or drink something or the midwife listen to the baby, etc.etc.  It was staged, as far as the setting,  wardrobe and makeup go and she had worked very hard, prenatally, for that birth.  I like what the message said in French at the start, this film is not meant as a model for birthing but as a possibilty of a different road (or path).

Does anyone know if this beautiful birth video is hosted anywhere else? It looks like Daily Motion removed it because of nudity or what ever.

I am woman, mother, midwife giving birth to myself

I would like to know too.  I never copied it before it was taken down, figuring it would remain up as a link.  I've tried searchiing for it.  It was a tri- lingual video but mainly in french, for a first time mama  who used deep toning to help her with her contractions.   It really was beautiful.  Any body know any tricks to find it?
