Wilted Flower [W] Aspiring Midwife from Texas!

    Hello everyone!

I'm new to the site, for a while I had the nick laymidwife2be, but on every other social networking site I've been blooming9midwife so I went ahead and made a new one. I'm 16 and I started thinking about becoming a midwife last year when my Mom saw me watching a show on DiscoveryHealth about midwifery, and she commented that I would be a good midwife. (my mom had a midwife for 6 of her 8 births) After that I started thinking about it, ever since I was really little I had been fascinated by birth and babies and would ask my mom a lot related questions. Before that I thought I wanted to run a DayCare, but every time I'd research what it took to start one and keep one going I'd get less and less interested. So I continued to think and pray about the comment my mom made and asked her some questions and she got me back in touch with her midwife so I could ask her any questions I had. And now I believe this is my calling, I'm actively pursuing this life. I'm reading a Maternal-newborn nursing text book, I know its not the same but I'm learning things I didn't know before, and its as good as it gets until I can afford the Holistic Midwifery volumes.

I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself! I am planning (as you can tell by my previous nick) to be lay Midwife. I hope my moms midwife will be willing to train me.
