    Midwife Search-Texas

hello, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but we are beginning a search for a midwife as we are on the road to opening a birth center. We are located in the Rio Grande Valley- google McAllen as the city and that is the main city where we will be located by. We are approx 45minutes from South Padre Island and 4 hours south of San Antonio. We are in an area desperately needing more birth options for women, high c-section rates, dr's love their interventions, we are in the process of looking at properties and currently have a timeframe of opening around Spring of 2011. We plan to offer as much woman/wellness care as possible so we are looking for a CNM or LM with experience, preferably someone who would be willing to work with apprentices/students, which we plan to be open to taking on. We are "woman run":) "mother run"...this is all being "birthed" from a group of women tired with the local intervention happy medical community and ready to make a change. We know the numbers are there as far as clients, we would be offering our services to women living in 3 different counties and from across the border that are looking for a higher standard of personal care. Would appreciate any kinda of referral information or email me anytime if you are seriously interested.  -Loren
