I would like to hear your experiences

Hi, I am certified nurse-midwife working on a presentation regarding collaboration between CNMs and CPMs.  I am presenting to a group of nurse-midwives to encourage them to consider ways they can collaborate with CPMs.  Examples would be a home-birth midwife who has a client that needs induction for post-dates collaborating with a hospital-based midwife who can do the induction and still provide care that is as non-interventive as possible.  Another example might be a midwife who lives in an area where she cannot order an ultrasound or NST, but collaborates with a hospital-based midwife who can order these.

Has anyone had positive experiences such as this which I could present to  demonstrate that collaboration between midwives can be done successfully and will contribute to continuity of midwifery care for our clients?

I am a homebirth CNM who works closely with a DEM with many stories like your examples.  Are you specifically looking for CPM/CNM, or would my stories be of interest (anonymously, of course, to protect my DEM colleague).

I would love to hear experiences of collaboration between CNMs and any other type of midwife.  Thank you!

I have worked collaboratively with an ob and a CNM in the past. it worked very well, Until the malpractice ins co forced it to stop.
